The Project
Heritage block. Modern build.
The Brief
A pool that belongs.
Windsor is one of Brisbane's oldest inner suburbs. Heritage overlays. Mature trees. Tight sites. Established neighbours. Building here requires a builder who understands the constraints — and has the craftsmanship to deliver something that belongs.
The project came to Nirvana in collaboration with Evcon Projects as part of a broader renovation and extension. The brief: a large custom pool with an integrated spa, tiled in a lush green stone mosaic that would echo the tropical canopy overhead.
Construction Sequence
From steel to stone.
The Windsor build is what pool construction looks like when you take it seriously. Excavation. Steel reinforcement cage — dense, engineered, tied to specification. Concrete shell formed and poured. Then the tile work: thousands of individual stone mosaic pieces, handset across every surface, one section at a time.
What We Built
Crafted in stone.
Full sukabumi-style stone mosaic interior
Handset throughout, walls and floor, in layered tones of deep teal and jade. Consistent across the pool and spa. The colour shifts with the light — vivid aqua in the shallows, deep green in the main pool body.
Integrated spa section
Built into the pool shell at the far end. Wide perimeter bench seating, deep footwell, spillover connection to the main pool.
Contemporary pavilion
Flat-roofed, slim-column entertaining structure alongside the pool. Frames the space. Provides shade.
Curved feature wall
An architectural element that marks the boundary between pool and garden. Adds visual interest and depth to the composition.
Full site management
Construction on an established inner-suburban block. Mature trees, neighbouring properties, heritage context. Sequenced and managed without incident.
Full landscaping integration
Irrigation, garden preparation, and planting designed around the pool as part of a single connected outdoor living space.
Completed Pool
Jade in the canopy.
